About Fiona

I have always loved dancing and was taken to my first ballet class aged 3! As I grew up it was all I really wanted to do. After leaving school I trained in dance and performing arts at Bodywork Dance Studio in Cambridge and went on to work as a professional dancer for many years. I have worked in the UK, Europe and Middle East as a dancer in cabaret and production shows. Life has taken me on many other paths however I always come back to dance, it’s not only a great way to exercise and be active it’s creative, expressive and uplifting and just feels great!

As well as my professional dance training and experience I have trained and qualified as a dance teacher with the IDTA and as a dance fitness teacher with EMD UK. I am also an RAD Silver Swan licensee.
I also love travel and music - I have spent time working abroad in travel and tourism and also worked as a DJ in Dubai and Muscat, Oman!

Why I teach

I have experience teaching dance and fitness for various dance schools and gyms in England and Greece but it wasn't until 2018 that I decided it was time to start running my own classes. I wanted to share my experience and knowledge and offer adults the opportunity to come to dance classes and experience all the amazing benefits of dance. I love teaching adult classes, all my participants are so enthusiastic and I can see their progress every week. It's just lovely to see participants gaining confidence with the steps and to see those moments when someone achieves something which they didn't think they could do. Many participants tell me they feel stronger with improved balance and that they just love the feeling of dancing and the positive impact this has on them. I'm so happy to be encouraging adults of all ages to dance!

Classes and more

As well as my regular adult ballet classes in Norfolk I also offer 1-1 tuition and ballet workshops focused on learning a piece of adapted choreography from ballets such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. In addition to classical ballet I teach ballet based exercise, jazz and musical theatre classes for adults.

I also enjoy working as a freelance teacher and regularly work with Stage Two at Norwich Theatre Royal as a creative practitioner. I enjoy working on different projects and collaborating with other professionals and organisations to introduce more people to dance. Please take a look at the "Work with me" page to find out more and contact me to discuss how I can bring dance to you.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to a class soon!
